Bala Cynwyd - A funeral Mass for the Rev. Canon William Marvin will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, at St. Michael the Archangel in the Chapel of Peace in West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 215 Belmont Avenue in Bala Cynwyd, PA. For directions, click here. Fr. Marvin, 81, died suddenly at his home in Philadelphia, PA, on August 22.
Since 2004, Fr. Marvin had been assisting priest at the Anglican Church of the Transfiguration in Phoenixville in the Diocese of the Holy Cross. Fr. Marvin also provided supply support for St. Michael's (formerly St. James the Less).
There will also be a Requiem Mass on Friday, August 31, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Transfiguration, 51 Columbia Ave., Phoenixville, PA 19460. For directions to the Church of the Transfiguration, click here.
A graduate of the Philadelphia Divinity School, Fr. Marvin was ordained a priest in 1958 at Trinity Cathedral in Trenton, NJ. He served parishes in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. He became associated with the Anglican “Continuing Church” movement in 1978 and retired in 1999.
